How to export image in GIMP
By default GIMP save a image in XCF format only. To save the image to different format, use the Export command. Here is how.
1. With GIMP open, go to File → Export As..., or from the keyboard by using the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+E.
2. You can select file type.
3. When exporting, you have an option to select the quality and other features from Advanced Options.
