With Android 4, you can check the data usage. To do that, please follow this steps:
1. Tap Settings.
2. In the Settings, tap Usage.
3. In the Usage, you can turn on/off Mobile network, Set data usage limit, Alert me about data usage, Recent data count, Data usage cycle,
and view the usage details.
