Can’t drive Tesla even the Bluetooth on

Problem: My phone Bluetooth is on , but I can’t open tesla door. Then I used Tesla app to open the door, but I can’t drive with this message in the screen: Set up phone key. Automatically lock as you walk away and unlock as you approach.

It sounds like your phone’s Bluetooth is on, but your phone key may not be properly set up or synced with your Tesla. Here’s how you can resolve the issue:

  1. Check if the Phone Key is Set Up:
    • Open the Tesla app.
    • Ensure your phone key is properly set up under Controls > Phone Key.
    • If it isn’t, follow the on-screen instructions to set it up again.
  2. Re-pair Bluetooth:
    • Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and disconnect from your Tesla.
    • Turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on.
    • Reconnect the phone with your Tesla by selecting your car from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
  3. Re-enable Phone Key:
    • In the Tesla app, remove your current phone key (if it exists).
    • Go to Security in the car’s touchscreen, and re-add the phone key.
  4. Restart the Tesla App:
    • Force close the Tesla app on your phone.
    • Reopen the app and ensure the phone key feature is working.
  5. Walk-Away Lock/Unlock Settings:
    • Ensure the Walk-Away Lock feature is enabled. Go to the car’s touchscreen, navigate to Controls > Locks, and verify that Walk-Away Door Lock is turned on.

If these steps don’t work, restarting your car’s system (using the steering wheel buttons) or your phone might resolve the issue.
