Tips for Portrait Posing with
Examples 1. Pose the Hair: Tucking your hair off to one side like, or behind one ear.
3.
Leave Visual Space by the Waist: Never allow your arm to hang
so that it is pressed up against your body.
Keeping the arms away from the side of the body makes the wait look
slimmer. For example, having her pull the arm a little forward, you can see the space, so
the waist doesn't have anything adding visual bulk.
4.
Pull the Chin (or Ears) Forward:
tell your model to bring their ears
forward. 5. Lift the Arm: Lift your arm an inch or two so it is "floating" and not pressed against you. Alternatively, you can pose your hand so the arm is in a different position, such as putting their hand on the hip. 6. Slimming the hips and thighs: In a standing pose, rotate the hips to show a side view view. Just as the arms shouldn't be posed next to the body, leg at the thighs should never be posed right next to each other on standing poses. 7. Leg Posing techniques: One of leg supports the subject's weight while another leg crosses over, extend out, bend or raise up. 8. Face: Play around with your hands trying different positions around you head or face. 9. Sitting: The knees have to touch each other. 10. Eyes: The eyes are always follow the line of your nose to keep your sight central. This stops you from looking bog eyed from too much white of the eye showing.
